The Evergreen Park Chamber of Commerce presents the first EP Money Tree Hunt, a creative way for residents to engage with businesses and compete for a $250 cash prize at the beginning of the holiday shopping season.
The contest takes place on one day, Saturday, November 27, 2021, and the Money Tree will be hidden somewhere in Evergreen Park that day. Kick off is at 9 am at First National Bank of Evergreen Park, 3960 W. 95th St.
Clues will be available at participating businesses, with each clue leading to the location of the next clue. The contest will end when a winner has found the hidden Money Tree, ideally before 2 pm.
All participants are asked to register for the free contest on this page, so that you can receive instructions and tips throughout the day.
The contest is open to residents of Evergreen Park and the surrounding communities. There is no cost to participate, but those competing will have the opportunity to visit several businesses and are encouraged to shop locally.
Chamber member Butch Zemar of Elite Benefits of America enjoys puzzles and suggested holding a contest to find a ‘golden ticket’ as a fun way to drive more traffic into local businesses. “Small businesses are a driving force of the Village,” Zemar said. “The idea was to support our businesses and create an activity plan to get the local community involved and bond during the holiday season.”
A committee quickly formed and brainstormed ideas to customize the contest for Evergreen Park, with unique clues. Our Member Services Liaison Kelly Moroney met with members of the Evergreen Park Historical Commission to brush up on local history and help develop the hunt.
Thank you for playing and for supporting local businesses to Keep the Green in Evergreen!
Our sincere thanks to First National Bank of Evergreen Park for sponsoring this contest!
